An Action-packed January :-)

Since our return to Bangkok, we didn't need long to get back into the swing of things here and at the same time, have thoroughly enjoyed the month of January. We've been lucky enough to have had GSK and AK come by for a short stay after their adventurous three weeks in Laos. AK celebrated his birthday while he was here, which entailed good doses of laughter, engaging story telling and generous amounts of wine!

Next we had one of my brothers, Quang, come by for a few days. The last time I saw him was in April 2014, so it was lovely to catch up with him again... and to see that his impressive appetite has not lessened one bit from our teenage years! Lucky guy! His visit revolved around delicious food and regular massages... of course.

Finally, we had the K family in town for the weekend and had a blast with them. We spent a day biking through parts of the city and it's jungle across the river. The bike tour allowed us to see areas of Bangkok that we would never have found or even thought of venturing into on our own. Their two teenage boys were great fun and for us, it was so lovely to see how well they are doing since the last time we saw them. It was a great day out with wonderful friends, interesting new sights and marvellous weather!

Clockwise from top left: part of the bike path on the city side, getting our bikes across the river, a rickshaw ride gave our  bottoms a break during the bike tour, part of the bike path through the jungle area, oldest temple in the jungle neighbourhood, street food at the floating markets, drinking mugs for sale, one of the most rusted old boats I've ever seen! Centre: rooftop drinks with my brother Quang :-)
