The Sweetest Months

I've been outside of China for a little over a year and returning in the month of October was a very good idea. Autumn is the best season to visit China. But make sure to avoid the first week of October when it's the Golden Week National holidays; you'll simply be overrun by hordes of domestic tourists making the most of their limited time off. Autumn is also, unfortunately, the shortest season of the year too. Clear blue skies, warm sunshine and cool weather makes me forget about the usual air pollution which I am not looking forward to tackling...yet.

View from our walk on the weekend and amazingly, not a construction crane in sight!

With this great weather began the Shanghai Arts Festival over the weekend where Bandaloop (www.bandaloop.org) debuted in China. They are an American performance troupe who dance off skyscrapers and had me in awe with shivers running down my arms from watching them leap off the windows!

What a spectacular display of dance in the modern city!

It's not often that we get to enjoy open-air events in China and I can only hope that there will be many more to come :-)
